Well, the season is over for the younger juniors at Hellyer. The last session of 2006 brought warm weather and a great turnout. I’m sure they are looking forward to an even bigger season next year.
Thanks to Rob Jensen, Andrew Lanier, and Glenn Kubacki for running this session, and to all the juniors for making it exciting. There are more pictures on Flickr.

Thanks to an anonymous visitor, there is a new country in the velodrome database. The 333m concrete velodrome in the northeast part of Tallinn was very easy to add, thanks the the complete information in the comment.
If you wish to add a velodrome which is missing, consider this as an example:
Name: Pirita Spordikeskus (Pirita Sportcenter)
Address: 3, Rummu road
City: Tallinn
Country: Estonia
Postcode: 11911
Track: 333m outdoor concrete
Pictures (unofficial website): http://velodroom.ee/pildid/v/velodroom2005/
Map: http://www.wikimapia.org/#y=59463238&x=24830990&z=17&l=15&m=a
etc.
The map link includes exact coordinates, so there was no guesswork involved.
If you include your name, it will be included as the “Source” in the Google Earth placemarks.
Thanks to a comment by Sylvain, I have added 13 velodromes in France to the database. The key was this link: http://www.ffc.fr/a_Piste/Velodromes/index.asp which provides a comprehensive list of velodromes and contact information.
France now has more velodromes in the database than any country except Japan!
| Velodromes | Country |
|---|
| 82 | France |
| 55 | Japan |
| 45 | Italy |
| 42 | Australia |
| 38 | Germany |
| 35 | Spain |
| 30 | Argentina |
| 26 | United States of America |
| 21 | Great Britain |

France has 41 velodromes in the database, and even more that have not been added yet.
The database will continue to grow. There are over 20 places in the world where I have seen images which may be velodromes and over 160 cities where velodromes are reported but I have not found them. None of these will be added until there is enough address or image information to give a reasonable level of confidence that the location is actually a velodrome.
